World Trade Center Towers 1-4 and Retail Concourse
Paladino is managing the green building consulting, enhanced commissioning and LEED certification process for World Trade Center 2-4 and the retail concourse in Manhattan on behalf of developer/leasing agent Silverstein Properties and the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey; and for One World Trade Center on behalf of developer/leasing agent Durst Organization and the Port Authority.
Rebuilding the World Trade Center with sustainable materials, energy efficient technologies and renewable resources was a top priority for the city. In planning for the 2.6 million square foot One World Trade Center located in New York’s lower Manhattan, the Paladino team integrated a number of sustainable strategies to achieve natural interior daylighting for 90% of occupied spaces, recycling 100% of stormwater, reducing municipal water use by 30%, implementing renewable energy measures, and diverting approximately 90% of construction debris and materials from landfills.
The building features a publicly accessible lobby, 69 office floors, a number of mechanical floors and two restaurants. The crowning observation deck is open to visitors and provides expansive views of the city. Below ground is approximately 55,000 SF of multi-level retail space as well as parking and access to the New York subway station.
One World Trade Center was designated America’s tallest building by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, standing at 1,776 feet tall, a symbol of the start of our country’s nationhood.
Paladino will be managing the certification documentation and process for the towers.
One World Trade Center is targeting LEED Gold Certification
