Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

The sustainable redevelopment and rehabilitation of the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo is in keeping with San Jose's desire to become an environmentally and economically sustainable city, and is a big step towards the continued effort to provide 7.5 acres of regional and city-wide parkland per 1,000 persons in the city. Plans to accomplish this goal include developing the park with extensive green building planning, design and operations, as well as sustainable landscape design and maintenance. There is also a large educational component to the park's program to foster sustainable living in the community as a whole.
