PFPC’s corporate headquarters, The J. Richard Carnall Center, was the first LEED Gold rated building in both Delaware and in the U.S. financial services industry. The four-story building includes an executive management center, conference rooms, a training auditorium and management information system space.

PFPC sought to create an employee friendly, interactive and functional working environment in addition to lowering operating costs—leading to an increase in shareholder value. Due to its location on the edge of Bellevue State Park, one of the goals of the project was to adopt a development plan that respected the community’s history and sense of place. During construction, site disturbance was limited, and the natural resources extracted to make way for the building were recycled into the project. Green building strategies used to create a productive work environment included a raised access floor system that delivers fresh air at occupant level and provides employees with individual air flow control, daylighting and open floor space design for employees to enjoy natural light and views.
