PNC Place/800 17th Street, to be located in Washington, DC, is designed as the first LEED Platinum Core and Shell office building in the downtown area. This 340,000 square foot speculative office building will house PNC’s DC office location, and will create premium Class A office space intended to appeal to DC’s knowledge industry. Merging the highest levels of design excellence, conservation technology, tenant comfort and sophistication, the sustainable design strategy includes:

  • An artfully conceived Eco-Lobby, including a glass bridge and three-story climate wall of cascading water that radiantly cools and conditions the lobby
  • Energy strategy including high efficiency building envelope and lighting systems expected to result in 20% energy reduction, with 35% demand met by renewable sources
  • Porch-like extension perimeter offices with nine-foot floor-to-ceiling glass wall featuring occupant climate and louver controls
  • 50% green roof
  • Landscape irrigation served from cooling tower water reuse
