Cedar Water Treatment Facility Operations Building Case Study

The City of Seattle Department of Planning and Development has recently published a case study for the LEED Silver rated Cedar Water Treatment Facility Operations Building. Completed in 2004, Paladino and Company served as the sustainability consultants to the project, collaborating with the team to identify a sustainable design concept and LEED strategy. Located southeast of Renton, WA and serving the Lake Youngs Reservation, the building houses the main treatment plant control room, analytical laboratory, offices, meeting room, mechanical/electrical room, restrooms and personnel lockers.

Sustainability strategies focused on extremely low impact site design backed by constructed wetlands to buffer contamination of the water supply.
