Marriott in the LEED - New Look Magazine

Marriott International’s industry-leading LEED prototype program is profiled as the cover story in the March/April issue of New Look magazine. Marriott’s LEED rated prototypes, under development for five select service brands, will be pre-certified under the LEED Volume Pilot Program and will provide a guide for franchisees and developers who wish to build a green Marriott hotel. Senior V.P. of Design and Project Management Karim Khalifa, who spearheaded the LEED certification effort, was quoted as saying “I saw what was needed for a LEED hotel and realized that many owners are scared away…We need to demystify the process.” Paladino and Company was engaged to support the development of Marriott’s LEED volume certification program, which includes sustainable design and construction standards that will reach across five hotel brands, including Courtyard, TownPlace Suites, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites and Residence Inn.
