Senior Analyst, LEED® AP BD+C
With expertise in sustainable building construction management, ventilation testing, water efficiency and building audits, Ryan works with clients to optimize the performance of their existing buildings portfolios. Ryan has experience working on over 40 existing buildings, conducting water audits, performing energy and lighting studies and managing building commissioning and energy audit projects. In particular, he specializes in conducting ventilation studies to support his client’s achievement of the LEED EBOM prerequisite for minimum indoor air quality performance, along with preparing the accompanying documentation.
An ENERGY STAR expert, Ryan uses his in-depth knowledge of Portfolio Manager and the rating system to guide clients to optimize their score under the EPA’s guidelines.
For his Master’s thesis work at Carnegie Mellon, Ryan compared the potential sustainability credentials of permanent modular construction to traditional on-site construction and developed an alternate LEED rating system that would suit the particular design and construction needs of this type of project.
In 2009, Ryan spent time at the Rancho Mastatal Environment Learning Center in Costa Rica, building residential and workshop structures out of local natural materials and assisting with reforestation and landscaping projects.
