Megan uses her extensive knowledge of building science, sustainable design, and the health and productivity benefits of green buildings to provide project teams with support on a range of subjects. Additionally, she works with Paladino’s technical consulting team, reviewing LEED Applications for the U.S. Green Building Council.
As a PhD candidate in Building Performance and Diagnostics at Carnegie Mellon University, Megan’s thesis research investigates quantitative relationships between the indoor environment in schools and student health and performance indicators. At CMU’s Center for Building Performance and Diagnostics, Megan was instrumental in developing and expanding a web-based tool to quantify life cycle costs and benefits of investments in high-performance buildings and components, the Building Investment Decision Support Tool (BIDS™).
Through the Center for Building Performance, Megan also provided technical reviews of O&M practices and internal construction standards for large institutional and federal organizations, developed customized sustainability guidance and specifications, and performed energy analyses and life cycle cost calculations to support appropriations and budget requests.
