Glassworks: Architectural Art Glass

Explore a dazzling architectural element with a behind the scenes tour of Glassworks’ studio where function and beauty are cast in glass. Their custom countertops, tables, doors, walls and other unique pieces have graced residential and commercial spaces including restaurants, hotels, Tiffany’s at Bellagio, and appeared in design publications and on HGTV. Enjoy an up-close look over appetizers and drinks and hear how Sandler Architects incorporates Glassworks into their designs, fusing Art with Architecture.

Summertime Happy Hour with Creoworks & Bounty Kitchen

Where: Bounty Kitchen Denny Triangle | 801 Lenora Street

Enjoy a happy hour at Bounty Kitchen’s new location in Downtown Seattle. Creoworks collaborated with Graham Baba Architects & Wilcox Construction on this one-of-a kind space. The design inspiration came from the original Queen Anne location along with Bounty Kitchen’s vision of bringing the outside in with greenery, antique mirrors and window frames. Come enjoy an evening of delicious food, drinks, and discussion of restaurant design & fabrication in this inviting, modern, healthy, neighborhood hub.

Fremont Fair

The Fremont Fair is taking over 6 city blocks of the *ICONIC* Fremont Neighborhood during Solstice Weekend and ushering in summer with 2 stages of live music, 300+ craft vendors, beer gardens, art cars, one-of-a-kind Parades, delicious fair foods and so much more! Find your way to the Center of the Universe. The Fremont Fair benefits the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization that supports Shop Local, is responsible for procuring and maintaining most of the amazing public art on display throughout the Fremont neighborhood and celebrates individual talents and creativity to further develop the community, promote business, and education opportunities in Fremont.

Pac-12 Sustainability Conference

The Pac-12 is the first collegiate sports conference to convene a high-level symposium focused entirely on integrating sustainability into college athletics and across college campuses. NAIOP Summer Social Golf Tournament

As one of the largest events in our program year, the Summer Social Golf Tournament forms the cornerstone of NAIOP Washington’s annual fundraising goal. Thanks to 65+ sponsor companies and 304 golfers, NAIOP is able to fund important government affairs and community enhancement projects every year. And, it’s fun! Sponsors enjoy the opportunity to get creative at this relaxed networking event that takes advantage of both courses at the scenic Golf Club at Newcastle. Plus, a post-tournament reception offers ample opportunity for visiting and networking.

USGBC: NCR Emerging Professionals Monthly Meeting: Career Campfire

Your career experience is never perfect or even graceful. Help each other out by sharing experiences that have made you go ‘what?’, ‘OH NO!’, and ‘Grrrrr’ (or Blerg). Join USGBC at Dirty Habit over a mocktail, cocktail, soda or beer as you share experiences in your career, past or present that were unique, hilarious, confusing, or frustrating. You will get together in groups to vent, laugh, cry, and be supportive to one another about going through and discovering what the modern grind truly means – and maybe even share ways of overcoming, ignoring, or encouraging those moments in our careers.

Summer Social Series: Mini-Unconference in the Park

Greenerminds is about creating space to connect about things that matter most. An ‘unconference’ provides a structured way of convening around the questions that are most on people’s hearts and minds (e.g. “How might we reduce food packaging in DC?”, “Green New Deal, hot or not?”, “How to combat perpetual busy-ness?” At the beginning of the evening, Greenerminds will source topics from the group, vote, and have two rounds of small group conversations.

USGBC NCR – Net Zero Discovery Elementary School Tour

The school offers a positive example of a solution to the global crisis of climate change—and along the way emboldens students with the expectation that they are creative participants in those solutions.

A Midsummer Night’s Green

For seventeen years and counting, USGBC National Capital Region’s A Midsummer Night’s Green has brought together sustainability advocates from across the DC metro area to toast the best of the best in local green building. This premier summer social event and fundraiser offers networking, delicious hors d’ oeuvres, an open bar, and unique experiences, which in the past have included a virtual reality booth, wine tastings, and the opportunity to test-ride a Tesla. A Midsummer Night’s Green also includes the announcement of the winners of our Community Leader Awards, which honor excellence in high-performance design, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
