Adds Second LEED Fellow to Team
Paladino and Company (Paladino), an industry leading green building and sustainability consulting firm, today announced Kim Pexton has joined the company as regional director in the DC office. Pexton has more than two decades of experience in the building industry and holds the prestigious LEED Fellow designation. Pexton will be responsible for providing strategic sustainability and climate resilience planning to real estate clients in the greater Washington DC region.
“I’m excited to have Kim join our team. She has shown herself to be an extraordinary leader with a long track record of developing solutions that meet the challenges faced by real estate owners, builders, designers and architects as they relate to corporate sustainability and social responsibility,” said Paladino Founder and CEO Tom Paladino.
Prior to joining Paladino, Pexton was director of sustainable construction at HITT Contracting Inc., where she played a key role in growing the company from $6 million in green building to $2 billion. She also served as sustainability director for James G. Davis Construction Corporation. Pexton has worked on more than 300 projects that have earned LEED certification and is an internationally published author on the development and implementation of Green Building Practices.
“On the heels of global climate talks, this is a pivotal time for the building industry as companies increasingly understand and demonstrate their accountability,” said Pexton. “Paladino is one of the rare consultancies to really understand how to tie sustainability to business value, and that’s what I’m most excited about. This team is shaping the direction of sustainability and demonstrating the potential of the industry.”
