The Tower at PNC Plaza, the world’s greenest high rise, recently won ENR MidAtlantic’s annual award for Best Project in the Office/Retail/Mixed-Use category. The Tower was one of 65 projects evaluated by a judging panel that includes architects, engineers, contractors, and a public owner. The winners were evaluated according to a set of criteria: the project team’s ability to overcome challenges; the project’s contribution to the industry and community; safety; and construction and design quality.

The Tower serves as the new commercial office headquarters for The PNC Financial Services Group, and features state-of-the-art technology and sustainable innovation. The 781,000 square foot building began construction in spring 2012, and is now officially open with more than 2,200 employees from PNC’s local office buildings settling in.
