Meet Jake Mello

Jake’s background is in building commissioning, energy modeling, renewable energy, energy efficiency, microgrid projects, and patent research. In addition to LEED, his building commissioning projects include unit HVAC, envelope, and central plant commissioning inspections. He has a deep understanding of energy and air quality standards such as ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, Appendix G, and ENERGY STAR standards. Jake develops building energy models and systems models using a variety of software packages, and assists in determining utility allowances based on energy modeling of public housing units.

Jake has conducted technical and economic feasibility studies of renewable energy technologies and energy efficient building systems. This work has included reports and white papers on a wide variety of technologies, from DC Microgrids to geothermal heat pump systems and daylighting.
